Original abstract painting
ART OF WAR
Not every battle has witnesses.
Dark shapes rise against a red ground. They resemble trees, but perhaps also smoke, wreckage, or a landscape in which something has just taken place.
At first glance the title ART OF WAR seems to speak of war. But a war need not have soldiers, weapons or a battlefield.
Some conflicts take place inside a person. In the moments when they must decide whether to step back, to hold on, to forgive or to begin again. Outwardly nothing may happen at all, and yet it can be a defining moment of a life.
Red and black stand here against each other. Neither has the last word.
The painting shows no victor. Perhaps it does not need one.
Some battles end without anyone noticing.
